Leighton Linslade Cancer Support Group

Description

We offer support to anyone with a cancer diagnosis at our weekly meetings held in the Salvation Army Hall on Friday mornings 10.30am until 12.30pm.

Our group is run entirely by members who have had cancer or receiving treatment for this disease.

Our group offers help to all no matter what type of cancer diagnosis is given and we are not affilated to any particular religion.

We are a forward thinking group and have activities including the raising of our own funds, meals out and our latest venture forming our own Quiz Nite team.

Testimonials

This group is not simply the only generic cancer cancer support in the area (including Luton & Dunstable) but is also the only one to meet on a weekly basis.

I would encourage anyone who is going through the fear, confusion and uncertainty of a cancer diagnosis - at whatever stage - to pay us a visit. I think you'll find it will help.

I couldn't see how a support group would help me at all. After all, I'd read that only 3% of cancer sufferers even bother to go to them. But the truth is that everyone in the group brings a different perspective to your own problem because they've all been in the same dark place that you have.

A support group may not be everyone's cup of tea of course, but I believe that a large proportion of that 97% I mentioned are missing out on something that at the very least will demonstrate that they are not alone.

Oh, and I have to say the group's social life's not bad either!

You'll get a great welcome, so go on, give us a try...
