Description

Hospice at home - Can we help you?

If you are confined to your home by a life limiting illness, you or your carers may need extra help, or a regular visitor to talk to.

Who are the Volunteers?

Our Volunteers are friendly caring people who may have experianced the need for help and support themselves and understand the need for discretion and privacy.

What do the Volunteers do?

The Volunteers visit, give practical help where its needed and become a supporting friend during the illness and - if required - beyond.

What are the benefits for the carers?

Our service provides an oppurtunity for the Carers to have someone to talk to outside the family unit or to have free time away from their sometimes stressful and emotional role of caring for a wife, husband, partner, relative or a friend who is suffering from the life limiting illness.

There are benefits for the cared too!

We have also found that the person who is receiving care also benefits from our visits. Our volunteers will talk to them, listen or read to them etc., or just sit with them whilst they sleep if that is what they want to do.

For more information and to find out more about the services on offer please give Hospice at Home for more details on 01525 854713.
