Leighton Buzzard Festival Singers

The Leighton Buzzard Festival Singers was formed in 1951, the year of the Festival of Britain. It is a choir for four voices (soprano, alto, tenor and bass). We normally perform two concerts each year in Leighton Buzzard, usually in May and November/December. We also perform at Summer fetes, dinners and weddings.

We rehearse every Monday evening during the school term from 7.45pm - 9.45pm. at Clipstone Brook Lower School, Brooklands Drive, Leighton Buzzard.

Our repertoire is varied. Recent concerts have included Bach’s Mass in B minor, Haydn’s The Seasons and Gounod’s Messe Solennelle. We also enjoy singing in our annual carol service.

To see more details of our recent performances, please visit our website by clicking on the link below and going to the 'Concerts' page.

New members are always welcome.

If you are thinking about joining a choir, why not come along to one of our rehearsals? No auditions are required and you will find that we are a very friendly group. Sight reading is not essential and all you need is enthusiasm and commitment. We organise social activities and fundraising events throughout the year. We usually put on 2 - 3 concerts per year as well as singing for charity events.

I sang in the first concert that you did in the OLD VIC which was Merry England It was conducted by my father Dennis Bignell who started the choir at the request of the Leighton Buzzard council glad to see you are still going strong
