Description

The Rotary Club of Leighton Linslade is a small friendly club which is very active in the local community.

The aim of Rotary, and this club in particular, is about having fun with a group of friends while helping the community locally, nationally and internationally.

Nationally it is helping to raise funds to eradicate polio, while locally, the Rotary Club of Leighton Linslade gives away about £15,000 each year, mainly to local charities. Recent donations include: NSPCC/Childline, the RNIB, Macmillan and the East Anglian Air Ambulance, the Homeless Service, St John Ambulance, All Saints Preservation Trust, Homestart, Chums, Malaria No More, Midshires Search and Rescue, and many others.

Rotary raises funds through its Leighton-Linslade May Day Fayre on the early May Bank holiday, the Brains of Leighton-Linslade Quiz in late October/early November, the Father Christmas float in December, and carols in the High Street on Christmas Eve, plus other smaller events.

The members (all male group) meet every Monday, 7.30pm, in the Hunt Hotel in Linslade.
